Photographers' double-takes welcomed by Littlehampton Museum
The Manor House, Littlehampton, as it is today, and with an old photograph from many years ago. A spokeswoman for the museum said: "The result is a magical doorway to the past, combining the old and the new. "If anyone has, for example, an interesting image of their street or house taken in the 1970s, or a pretty beach snap from the 1950s we would like to hear from them. Museum staff are inviting people to join in the Lens Eye View by taking an image of an old photograph held up in front of the place where it was originally taken. The images should provide a fascinating link between the old and the new in Littlehampton and pictures taken by the public will be on show alongside those created by staff from the museum. The photograph taken by the museum team (above) shows what is required, and anyone who would really like to take part should put their photo on a disc and send it to the museum at the Manor House, Church Street, Littlehampton, or e-mail it (see the address, below) to the museum by Saturday, March 31. "This is the best concept," said councillor Joyce Bowyer, chairman of Littlehampton Town Council's community resources committee. Photographers' double-takes welcomed by Littlehampton Museum |
